To investigate the mechanistic action of phytochemicals in modulating HSPs (27, 70 and 90).
To assess whether inhibition of HSPs could lead to cell cycle arrest by regulating the associated proteins.
To determine the modulatory action of dietary phytochemicals (curcumin, PEITC and sulphoraphane) on HDAC6, an enzyme that regulates chaperoning function of HSPs by deacetylating proteins.
To estimate the basal level of ROS and to understand an association between oxidative stress and HDAC6-HSP activation in human tumor cell lines.
To determine the activities and expressions of some antioxidant enzymes like catalase (CAT) and their modulation by curcumin, PEITC and sulphoraphane.
To study whether modulation of these markers by dietary phytochemicals could enhance the chemo sensitivity of conventional chemotherapeutic drugs used in the treatment of cancer.
To assess the expression of TNF-a and TNFa-R in the human tumor cell lines after treatment of the cells with curcumin and chemotherapeutic drugs either alone or in conjunction
